Three-day weekend! Any plans?

September 4, 2009
Y'know, I'm kinda bummed. It's Labor Day weekend. Why am I bummed, you ask? After all, it's a long weekend--no work on Monday, and extra day to hang out... Well, yes. BUT it also means the end of summer. Granted, I live in Wisconsin, and it's been in the 60's, and low 70's the past few weeks, so I should be resigned to the thought of winter coming already, right? Have I mentioned that winter is so NOT my favorite season?

Oh well. Can't do anything about the weather. Back to the long weekend. Remember my "I'm late" post? Where I mentioned tiling? I posted pictures of what's been done, at drey's house. Well, this weekend I get to grout. And seal. And hopefully (keeping all my fingers crossed) putting the stuff back in so I have a functioning half-bath again. Cross your fingers for me, will ya? =P

What are you doing with the long weekend? I hope it's fun, and y'all will stay safe! Oh, and don't forget to enter my giveaways ending soon, if you haven't already:
Terry Spear's To Tempt the Wolf ends Sunday
Sandra Hill's So Into You ends Tuesday

I know exactly how you feel Drey. I don't know about you, but here in northern Wisconsin we had about 1 week of hot summer weather, and that was it! It really was a stinky summer for us. But it does look to be a good weekend, so I'm going to my friends cabin tomorrow to hang out on the lake for the day. The rest of the weekend will be relaxing at home.

It won't be a long weekend for us. My hubby will work Monday and save the day to take off later. We will be watching football tomorrow, though!

Northern WI? Where? I'm in the Waukesha-Milwaukee area... Have fun at the lake!

bermudaonion ~ I can't believe it's football season, already! Baseball's not even done yet! And I have to re-figure my football pool strategy. Yikes!

My husband is away haveing fun and bike riding with friends. The perfect opportunity for me to get lots of reading done. Except my aunt invited herself for a visit. So tonight after work and tomorrow morning I'm cleaning the house and looking longingly at my piles of unread books.

The hubby and I have decided to stay home this weekend and get some stuff done. We've been super busy this summer on the weekends, so this weekend we'll fix the cars, and clean up the yard, and get the kids' stuff ready for back-to-school. I'll also be mentally preparing to return to work after a summer off.....boo!!!! AND I'll be curling up with "The Day the Falls Stood Still" a book that I'm reading for an upcoming book tour!

Hi Drey,
How are you my friend? I am doing much better now. I have had a lung infection for the past week or so. I rushed myself to the hospital right away and received treatment. My doctor and I caught it early. So I am glad that you are only worried about the weather.

Yes Drey I do want to date your avatar. (BIG GRIN)!!! You may want to let me get stronger first, I have a feeling I may need it. (ANOTHER BIG GRIN)!!!

Well I better say goodbye for now before I get myself in deeper trouble. Have a great weekend my friend. All the best,
Wheels

Well, we're heading up North to the cabin early tomorrow morning. First stop - a huge art show. Last year they also had a great food stand the spiral cut potatoes on the spot then deep fried them. Yum!

Have a great and successful home improvement weekend!

We'll be driving, taking out son back to college. But I've just received my copy of To Tempt the Wolf, so I know what I'll be reading on the way.

Actually, I made the mistake of opening it... I'm hooked from the first few pages, so now I'll have to work really hard to avoid reading on before we leave.

I'm in Madison, and I'm not looking forward to winter either. But for now, I've decided not to think about it. This weekend is all about Taste of Madison on the capitol square, tailgating, and reading. :)

We're having a family reunion on Monday. Word is my niece and nephew from Texas are coming and it will be the first time they've been back to Iowa in 18 years...with divorced parents, ya know how that goes. Anyway, I can't wait to see them.

Melanie ~ Sometimes I want my husband to go have fun with his friends, too. Just for the "me time in my house" thing. =) Too bad about the visitor, hopefully you'll still be able to get some reading done!

Jonita ~ Sounds like a busy weekend! I hope you get it all done, and find time to enjoy the weekend, too.

wheels ~ You need to take better care of yourself, my friend! I'm glad you're better. As for winter--I always get sick. & when you're prone to bronchitis, being sick is really not that great of a situation to be in. & I know you know what I mean. As for the avatar, isn't that music video AWESOME?? I LOVE The Guild! =) I hope you're having a great weekend!

Janel ~ Thank you! We're all grouted now, and have a working toilet. I just wish the hubby had decided to wait till we had all the grout sealed first!

Sheila ~ So, did you make it? (waiting to read till you're on the way) & holy moly on the college kid. Mine's six. I have a hard time picturing college. =P

Teashop Girl ~ I LOVE Madison! We'll be passing through (& hopefully stopping) next weekend on the way to Spring Green. Can't miss the APT's Henry the 5th!

Kat ~ Hope the family reunion is a blast! & hopefully your niece and nephew can reconnect with y'all without too much "stuff". As we say, at least you can pick your friends, 'cuz you're stuck with your family. =P

THANK YOU for commenting, everyone! One more day in the long weekend, hope everyone's is enjoyable!

It being the SF Bay Area, it is actually warmer and more summery here now that summer is officially over. The nicest month here is usually Spetember, just when you're too busy to be outside.

Then again, its not like its going to start snowing in October, so I can't complain too much.
