About the book:
Meet Kathryn Borel, bon vivant and undutiful daughter. Now meet her father, Philippe, former chef, eccentric genius, and wine aficionado extraordinaire. Kathryn is like her father in every way but one: she's totally ignorant when it comes to wine. And although Philippe has devoted untold parenting hours to delivering impassioned oenological orations, she has managed to remain unenlightened. But after an accident and a death, Kathryn realizes that by shutting herself off to her father's greatest passion, she will never really know him. Accordingly, she proposes a drunken father-daughter road trip. Corked is the uncensored account of their tour through the great wine regions of France. Uproarious, poignant, painfully introspective, and filled with cunning little details about wine, this is a book for any reader who has sought a connection with a complex family member or wanted to overcome the paralyzing terror of being faced with a restaurant wine list.

Thanks to Hachette Book Group, I have up to 5 copies of Corked for you. This one's open to U.S. residents only. To enter, fill out the form below, then tell me what your preference is: white vs red? I'm partial to Shiraz and Merlot myself, but love a good chilled glass of Pinot Grigio every once in a while... Do it all before 6:00 pm CST February 14th. Good luck!

I love a good glass (or 2) of white wine with Piesporter being my favorite.
This books sounds like loads of fun! I'm not much of a wine drinker, though. I prefer a nice tequila sunrise myself!
I prefer German whites. My husband prefers reds. This sounds like a good book. My husband has just started making wine, so it sounds like a book we would both enjoy.
Sparkling wines are my favorites. I also like very well-chilled whites or blushes, and blackberry Merlot is quite good. I prefer to drink red wine with a savory meal. I was recently given a big bottle of red which was only so-so to drink, but it made a wonderful addition to beef stew and pasta sauce!

I don't prefer either since I don't drink. Love to read this book though.

Flavor is the deciding factor in my choice, I like a good Chardonay as well as a good Lambrusco.
