I just move on to the next place where I will once again not know anybody and not feel accepted. I am still six years old, having never really learned how to make and keep friends or how to negotiate in a relationship or even how to open up - because I'm not allowed to open up.

That is quite a teaser! Why is she not allowed to open up? How is she "still six years old"? Too many questions arise from this! I'll have to check the book out.
