Lisa ~ I'd never heard of the book, either. Then I read Uglies (which, coincidentally, was last week's Teaser). I just had to get the next book to find out what happens...
Wanda ~ Yes, it does, doesn't it? Boggles the mind then to know that this is set in the future...
Margot ~ This is a YA novel. There's a whole series by Scott Westerfeld about how people are considered ugly until they turn 16 when they undergo an operation to make them beautiful.

I'm fairly sure I've heard a bit about this series, although I don't do much YA stuff. Very good teaser - makes me wonder about Tally.
