94. Midnight Alley by Rachel Caine...

June 17, 2009
So the library left a message that the next two Morganville Vampires books were ready to be picked up (what am I gonna do about books #5 & 6??)... & of course, once they were in my hands, I couldn't not read 'em...

In Midnight Alley, Claire tries to get back to being a "normal" college student. Except that now she's got jewelry. No biggie, right? Then dead girls start showing up. And the roommies try to figure out whodunnit. Is it Michael (can he really control himself?)? Or Jason, Eve's brother, who skulks back into her life? To make things more interesting, Michael is outed by a vigilante group. Whew.

And that's not even all of it. Amelie arranges for Claire to take more challenging classes, and sets up private "lessons" with a vampire, all on the down low. I'm seriously amazed that Claire manages all of this--class, roommates, lessons, stalkers, dead bodies--without falling apart at the seams.

Midnight Alley continues the saga of Morganville's vampires and humans. It's still a fast-paced read. And has a few twists as well. On to #4!
