Hope y'all are ready for this next giveaway from Hachette!! To celebrate the end of summer, and kids-going-back-to-school, here's some thought-inspiring books for parents... Ahhh, the quiet! Ooh, the serenity! Five lucky winners will receive all five books:
- NurtureShock by Po Bronson, Ashley Merryman
- Close Encounters of the Third-Grade Kind by Phillip Done
- In CHEAP We Trust by Lauren Weber
- The Love Revolution by Joyce Meyer
- Six Pixels of Separation by Mitch Joel
Want 'em? Of course you do! Here's how:
-- This is open to residents of the USA and Canada only, no PO Boxes, please.
-- Contest will run until 6:00pm CST September 15th. Can't wait? Click on the links to purchase from Amazon.com.
-- For one entry, comment and share: Is back-to-school time good or not? It's kinda bittersweet for me. The little man's going back to school, and he's excited to learn new things. But back-to-school time means summer's almost over. Which means that winter's coming (ASoIF, anyone?). Not one of my favorite seasons, that's for sure.
-- Following gets you another.
-- Sharing via twitter, blog, email, etc. gets you two entries for each action (be sure to let me know what you did & where, or cc me on emails).
-- Please make sure I have a way of contacting you if you're a winner.
-- HAVE FUN!
And, don't forget to check out West of Mars--Win a Book! for more giveaways!

Back to school is not an issue with me since my children are adults now...but I don't like the idea that winter is not far behind. Of course, that's why I left Michigan and moved south...shorter, milder winter weather!

I always have thought back to school was a good time. Who can resist a new box of crayons? And I really do love fall. I am lucky to live somewhere that fall really pops--lots of beautiful colors from the trees.

Back to school is exciting and a pain! LOL! I have a 14yo and a 6yo and they love shopping for their new supplies but the schools these days require alot! Can be expensive!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Back to school is a mixed bag. On one hand, I work from home so I am more productive... but I miss my 3 boys.
I am following your blog and retweeting your tweet!!! I wanna win!
Right now back to school is a good thing because I'm on maternity leave with a baby and a 3 yr. old and it's a challenge...I always liked it as a student because new clothes, seeing your friends again, etc. I like that it signifies the beginning of fall for me but I hate that winter follows.

I think back to school is an intriqueing time for parents and children. It is a time for children to learn and sit down with parents and tell them all about it. It is a way you as a parents get to learn along with your children. I think that is exciting.
I would love to read these books. YAY for Hatchette for offering these books for giveaway.

I am not ready for school to start again. I can't believe that summer is almost over. I will be happy in some ways much easier to get things done but we didn't pack enough fun in - I wanted to do so many more fun things than we actualy got around to doing - well we still have 4 weeks to get as much fun in as possible though.

Back to school is a good time. Amber's always excited about the new year, and it means fall is here, which I love. Also, things seem to slow down a little. There aren't as many outing and events, we can get back to normal.

I love fall and new school supplies, so I think this is a wonderful time of the year. I don't have kids, so I don't have the back to school hassles and Iget all the new pens and paper for myself.
Today I would say back to school time is good, but that's because my boys have been bickering all day. They start back in two weeks and I've actually really enjoyed them this summer.

I'm more neutral about it now. Good to be out of the summer heat, but not looking forward to the winter cold!

It is kind of bittersweet time. But think about how crazy all the mom's (and dad's) would be if it were summer ALL the time!
as a kid, i loved back to school time... new backpack, new school supplies, new clothes! but as a grown up, back to school means making lunches every morning and making sure my kids get to the sitters on time to catch the bus... argh! oh and winter is coming, that part i could do without.

Back-to-school this year is a little sad for me. My youngest is going to college. He went to summer school, but that time passed by very quickly. He probably won't come home very much. He loves college! My daughter has gotten her first teaching position, so she will be pretty busy.
No kids yet, so the end of summer just reflects the passage of time. I'm sad to have the summer end though.

As school is about to begin, I have a heavy heart and feel basically lost. I had to retire for medical reasons after an accident at school after 23 years as a teacher. I had pretty well planned on dying in my classroom or when I quit learning - whichever came first.

I think back to school time is good. It gives my daughter new ideas to focus on and she has lots of fun too
I like back to school and the lifelong learning that goes with it. Now my 16 year old prefers to sleep late, so readjusting to the morning funcions is slow-mo, unless sports are involved and then he's ready for the game. He does end the school day with weight lifting, so he's pumped.
This is my daughters first year of school, and I was upset that she started. Only because it seems like she is growing up too fast.
Thanks for the chance!
