Giveaway! Num8ers by Rachel Ward!

March 8, 2010
My review of Num8ers posted earlier this morning. And thanks to Big Honcho Media, have I got a giveaway for you!!

num8ers
About the book:
Ever since she was child, Jem has kept a secret: Whenever she meets someone new, no matter who, as soon as she looks into their eyes, a number pops into her head. That number is a date: the date they will die.

Burdened with such awful awareness, Jem avoids relationships. Until she meets Spider, another outsider, and takes a chance. The two plan a trip to the city. But while waiting to ride the Eye ferris wheel, Jem is terrified to see that all the other tourists in line flash the same number.

Today's number. Today's date. Terrorists are going to attack London. Jem’s world is about to explode!

It would be nice to use this talent to learn the date of the Apocalypse.

Yes, it would be nice to think if I had a talent like this I would try to use it for good, and not say, bet on football games.

I would try to use the ability for good but then people might look like I am crazy. Sounds like a good book.

I would try to help people out by selling life insurance and making sure they only got what they needed. :)

You know, I honestly don't know what I'd do, if I had this ability!! I'd hate knowing when members of my family were going to die!!

What would I do? Probably go crazy. Who wants to know something like that. I would never be able to leave the house again.

I would probably avoid people as much as possible and never look at anyone directly if I could help it.

Thanks for the great contest!

If I could see numbers, I would close my eyes when I'm around people! But since that's not a realistic solution, I would ignore the numbers.

I really don't know what I'd do, but I would probably never look anyone in the eyes anymore. I don't think I could live with that kind of power.

This book sounds good though and I would enjoy reading it!

If I could see dates like Jem, I would probably avoid a lot of people. Or wear really dark glasses and try to avoid seeing the numbers? Most likely go bonkers really, since that's a huge responsibility and burden to live with. D:

Sorry 'bout that, MarceJ! I don't make the rules. =(

I don't know what I'd do--walk around not looking at people, or not walk around at all? Either option would drive me nuts. Then again, my "friends" tell me I already am. Nuts, that is...

Good luck everyone. DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT after you've filled out the form!!!

This does not seem like something that would be easy to live with. I'd probably hole myself up in a cave somewhere in a high mountain & never see another person again. Who wants to know when people are going to die?

I don't know what I'd do if I had that power. I don't want to know when people are going to die, so I'd have a hard time looking them in the eyes.
