I remember a 7th grade dance with my first love. We were arguing about some nonsense thing. We were in separate corners with our friends and then I remember "Sweet Lady" by Tyrese coming on. We both kind of eyed each other and smiled and ended up dancing. It was the cutest thing. He was a doll. Everytime I hear that song I smile and think about him.

Hmmm, my first love? I remember in kindergarten (when I was four) jumping on top of the prettiest girl in class and kissing her for what seemed like hours. We were on our way to lunch and I got scolded pretty bad by my teacher. But come on, I was four!

D Dubs ~ That's too cute! You'd so get in trouble for that nowadays! =D

Gee! Another great contest. Those Hachette people are really nice to work with.
First love: 3rd grade, new student, first day, a little chubby in case my pix doesn't tell you that...and immediately was in love with the kid behind me. I mooned over him for at least the first few days and then one day when I couldn't squeeze by his desk he called me "Fatty!" End of that romance!(telling this awful tale ought to deserve something..at least a laugh!)

First love, a guy in my class, who was one of the cool kids. Never knew I existed. At the end of the year moved away and said goodbye personally. I cried for days.

drey said...

Bingo ~ Yes, they're really really great! =) Ah, I remember those days... There was this boy in my 4th grade class. *sigh* I literally fell over him. Scraped my knee up so bad I still have the scars. Of course, he talked to me after that, if only to get a sneak peek under the bandage! Boys!

donnas ~ I was always the one who moved. It's not easier... =(

My first love was gorgeous. He had the face of an angel...he had blond hair, blue eyes, and was 6'4" and built like a linebacker. I fell out of love with him when I finally realized he was as intelligent as a caveman. I'm not much for dumb & pretty. I'd rather have ugly & smart. Everyone eventually gets old and wrinkly, and I want to be able to carry on a decent conversation at that point.

My first love was so sweet. He would leave flowers on my doorstep and tie balloons to my door knob. We were 12 so of course it didn't last but he's a good guy.

Oh, in a selfish way, I'm so glad I've followed your blog. In a non-selfish way, I'm so glad I've followed your blog~~
As for first loves.....mine was Jason. From 1st grade until the 4th when my parents ripped my heart out and moved 9 miles away (might as well of been 1000 miles) It was a mutual love, wrestle, beat the crap out of each other, pass notes and eat lunch together sort of deal.

Lol, my first love was when I was about 7, and his name was Steve. He put a Valentine's card in my card box at the back of class and then before I opened my box, he told me it said he loved me. We were an 'item' for about three years. He grew up to be a great doctor now living in CO.

Mom of 5 Boys said...

Honestly, my first love was books. lol! Since that's not what you were asking, I'll tell you that in 4th grade I had a crush on my piano teacher's son. I don't know that I ever actually spoke to him, but my friend and I spent an awful lot of time watching him.

First Love: First Grade -- he kissed me in the cloak room. I was stunned and thrilled. Later, he sat on my lap. I was confused and squished. Thankfully, love got better as we got older!
This is a great giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win these books -- several of them are on my TBR List.

I've had crushes when I was a kid, but my first love was my first real boyfriend, in high school. He would always bring me a rose when we would go out. When he left for college, he would try to rush to school so we can go out for a while. He taught me a lot about baseball, and we would go to games up in the nosebleed seats, lol. We're still close friends, and we're long overdue for a visit, now that I think about it.. Hmm!
Have a good one! (lpmccann(at)gmail.com)

When I was about 12 my neighbors took in a foster son who was in his late teens. Danny was an American Indian and built like a young god. He would ride their horses without a shirt and he took my young breath away. I couldn't help but fall in 'love'.

Simply Stacie said...

My first love was Larry and I used to write poems about him and ride my bike by his house over and over. I look back and think I must of looked like a stalker! Back then I thought nothing of it!

My first love was the summer before senior year of high school. It was a guy I had gone to elementary school with. Apparently, he "liked" me when we were in 6th grade but I thought it was a dork :) He turned out to be my first true love!

My first true love (from 7th grade) is still a dear friend. We walked to the pool together holding hands, went to the carnival, did all sorts of things together. We still see each other every few years at weddings and funerals. He will always have a special place in my heart.

My first love was a fellow classmate when I was in first grade. When I pointed him out to my Dad he said, "He sure does have baggy britches. He's Baggy Britches George." My Dad then called ME George as a nickname for the next 40 years. If he called me anything other than George, I knew I was in trouble.

My first love was when I was in first grade and he was in third. We went to a small one room school house in the country and I sat right behind him. His name was Dennis and he had the biggest smile. Unfortunately we moved at the end of the year and I never saw him again but I can still picture his smile.

I'd love to enter! Wow there are so many books to win! :) My "first love" was a crush I had in 4th grade with one of my best guy friends. Haha actually my very best friend and I BOTH had a crush on him, but we didn't really do anything about it. Then later the same school year I ended up crushing on another one of my best guy friends x] Even though I've moved to a different state, that first crush and I are still friends! :)
