Article on working with bloggers & good PR practices...

April 10, 2009
Paula Krapf has an insightful post about good PR vs. bad PR when working with bloggers, on Author Marketing Experts, Inc. Read it here. I've been meaning to commend Paula on the good work she does, and I've been very neglectful. So here's some props - Paula is exactly the kind of publicist I'd want to work with. I have a full-time job, and a full slate of books. I schedule tours, giveaways, interviews, etc. on Google Calendar, and maintain my book list on Excel. If asked, I usually will let you know when I might be able to get around to reviewing a book... I'd hate to receive a note with a book with conditions & etc. that weren't previously discussed.

Go check it out.

I just read the letter and was horrified - would not want to work with that publicist!

Thanks, I appreciate your comments! Many of us work hard to build good relationships and maintain professional standards so we are always concerned when something happens that makes us look bad. I think it was a high pressure campaign and a flip decision turned out very badly. That's why it's so important to think about what you say and how it will be interpreted.
