Hot Flash was a book I won from Yankee Romance Reviewers, wayyyyyy back in February... It came from the author herself, signed with a personal note & everything. How lovely, eh? =)
Anyway, I finally picked it up. Needed something lighter after the recent fare I've been reading... What can I say, I LOVED it. It fit my mood perfectly, and provided exactly what I was looking for - humor, sass, a very likable main character, and an actual storyline. Sure, it didn't require a lot of thinking, but that's what made this just perfect. =) I mean, how could you resist a book that starts out with "Birthdays are like a box of Tampax."? I snorted. Really.
Hot Flash tells the story of Jill Morgan Stern, 40-year-old single mom and sous-chef trying to figure out how to pay for college for her talented artist son Stephen. She decides to send out a survey to a list of married couples, seeking the secrets of their success. The responses she receives add to the humor factor, even though there's plenty of humor already.
Pick this one up for a light-hearted, entertaining read.

That sounds like a nice fun book to enjoy. And lets be honest here. If I was in a book store and picked it up, and read that first sentence as you mentioned. I'd have to buy it just on that fact alone! Too fun~

Drey: Coming here very late to say, Thank you!
I'm so glad you enjoyed Hot Flash and that it made you laugh (and snort!) :D
Thanks so much for posting about the book. As an author, it's totally cool to find an unsolicited (and positive!) review of your book -- KC
