Welcome to this tour stop for Kate Brady's One Scream Away!
About the book:
Killer Chevy Bankes is a master of disguise, and just paroled, he's coming after the woman who sent him to jail, the beautiful antiques expert Beth Denison. A set of antique dolls brings Beth into his sight, and inspire Chevy's disturbing crimes as he draws closer to Beth and her young daughter. Chevy sends the dolls to Beth one-by-one and she soon realizes that these antiques carry the same marks as his victims, signaling that the final piece in his collection will be for her.
Neil Sheridan gave up his FBI shield five years ago, but his best friend Rick, a cop, pulls him in as a consultant on a case involving a serial killer who is eerily similar to a murderer Neil encountered in the past. The investigation leads Neil to Beth's doorstep, and he is certain she isn't telling him the truth. Neil is the only one who can get through Beth's defenses and, as they grow closer, discover the secrets that Beth is hiding about her fateful night with Chevy.
About the author:
Kate Brady can be found online at her website, www.katebrady.net.
drey's thoughts:
Ok, this book was c.r.e.e.p.y... I'm not a big fan of dolls, and to have them be the "message" in this book was just "ugh"-inducing. "Ugh"s aside though, One Scream Away is an edge-gripping, fast-paced read. Beth is stubborn and strong--she has to be, she's protecting her child. Neil is cynical. And Chevy is just creepy. Heebie-jeebies creepy. (have I mentioned creepy?)
The plot is tightly written, and you go on a ride to the finish line with Beth. And all the while you're wondering, why won't you speak up? What are you keeping hidden? Let him help!! *sigh* One Scream Away is a gripping read, all the way to the end.

I have a doll collection from around the world. When my grandparents went on a cruise around the world they brought us back a doll from each country they visited in their native costumes.

That sounds like an interesting book. Oh if only I wasn't a total wimp when it comes to books about murder - I just can't handle them.
I think dolls are for kids to play with.

I like dolls, but Barbie dolls and baby dolls. Too many porcelain dolls can be kind of creepy....I used to collect different dolls from different countries though.

Dolls have never been a really big thing in my life. I use to plant them in the mud puddle "Lake" and drive boats around them.

Can you say, "Chucky" or "Bride of Chucky?"
Moohaha!
I've read a couple of reviews of this book, and I really like yours the best!! Do you think it was a little creepy though? I don't like porceline dolls, but I did like baby dolls when I was little, but never had a Barbie doll until The Hubs bought me my first 2 Christmases ago (such a sweetie).
Thanks for the chance to win.

I can take or leave dolls. I do admire the beautiful clothes of the collectible Barbies but the only doll I have is one that was a childhood toy. I do, however, have a collection of stuffed cats. >^..^<

I never really did get into dolls when I was a little girl. I still have two of my dolls that would probably be considered an antique.

I have always liked dolls, but I never collected them. When I was young, Ginny dolls were the rage, and I had a miniature trunk she came with and it was full of clothes. I would play with that for hours!
