The Gate House" was very disappointing. This book could easily have "The Gold Coast" written on the cover, as it is a regurgitation of it. I mean, nothing happens in this book until the very end. Where John Sutter was fresh and funny in the first book, here he is just pathetic. I started skimming pages towards the end just to get it finished. Stick with "The Gold Coast" - a much better read.
