Exit Strategy is a departure from the Women of the Otherworld series author Kelley Armstrong. There is absolutely nothing paranormal in this book, just crime, killing, and suspense.
Nadia Stafford is a cop-turned-hitwoman who's recruited by her mentor, Jack, to help find a hitman-turned-serial killer. Flashbacks in the story provide background as to why she's a former cop, and why she's turned to taking on assignments for a mob family. The meat of the story revolves around looking for the serial killer, and her relationship with Jack, his mentor, a few other "helpers". Mostly the first two.
Jack's not much for talking - he says what he has to, and not a whisper more. The dialog between Nadia & Jack is crisp and to the point. The story moves along less-than-quickly, there are a few close shaves, but in the end good prevails. Well, as good as assassins can be, I guess.
I'd pick it up if I were a fan of Kelley Armstrong who wouldn't be bothered that it's not a paranormal.

Yes, it's working now. Go figure....Blogger was having technical issues with uploading photos yesterday. Maybe this was another issue.
Now I can finally read the review!
I haven't read a book by this author yet. I don't know what it is that keeps me from it.
I like her Women of the Otherworld series. I'll probably pick up Men of the Otherworld from the library once it comes out. But I'm not sure I'll follow along with this set of characters.
